The Calavera Sculpture was created for the Dia De Los Muertos event hosted at the Moody Amphitheater in Waterloo Park. Crafted in collaboration with visual artist Ruben Esquivel. The Calavera sculpture served as a canvas for live painting by Ruben Esquivel, infusing the artwork with dynamic hues, intricate patterns, and a profound connection to the Mexican tradition of sugar skull art. The live painting process transforms the sculpture into a dynamic, evolving representation of Dia de los Muertos.
